The 19-year-old was released by SkyBet League One side Plymouth Argyle after the end of the 2017/18 campaign.

Rose signed on loan for Dorchester last October and went to on to impress for the Magpies over the rest of the season, making 31 appearances as the Magpies went on to finish nineteenth.

Rose was an Argyle academy graduate but did not make any first-team appearances, although he was an unused substitute for the 1-0 Emirates FA Cup Third Round replay defeat by Liverpool at Home Park in January 2017.

He joins the Magpies on a more permanent basis having undergone a trial with League Two Cheltenham Town earlier this summer.
