The
29-year-old joins Morpeth after helping Hartlepool United to win promotion back
to the Football League in 2020/21.
He
had joined Pools in the summer of 2018 after his departure from Plymouth
Argyle.
He
had made 33 appearances for the promoted Pilgrims during 2016/17.
Newcastle-born,
he came through the ranks with his home-town club and gained experience with a
two-month loan spell at Pools in 2011/12, during which he made 12 appearances.
After
a handful of senior outings for Newcastle United, he was allowed to move on and
made his name at Gateshead where he scored 8 times in the National League
during 2012/13.
That
form caught the eye of Cambridge United who took the Tynesider in the summer of
2013 – it proved an inspired signing as he starred in the U’s return to the
Football League, including scoring the Wembley winner in the Promotion Final
which secured their promotion.
He
became a near ever-present for them in League Two in the following campaign,
scoring 7 goals in total.
His
debut season for Hartlepool was interrupted by an ankle injury which required
two operations and kept him out for six months, but he returned to fitness for
the latter part of the 2017/18 campaign and made 44 appearances in 2018/19. |
