Newcomers Strengthen Squad Ahead of Step 4 Challenge
Pitching In Northern Premier League Division One East newcomers Liversedge have strengthened their squad ahead of their first season at Step 4 level.

The vastly experienced striker Gavin Allott (pictured) has arrived, having been on the books at Worksop Town since July 2020.

 

The now 34-year-old was a May 2019 signing for NPL Premier Division side Gainsborough Trinity from Lincolnshire rivals Boston United, having arrived at The Jakemans Stadium in October 2018 following a goals-filled career with Frickley Athletic.

 

He left Westfield Lane with close to 120 goals to his credit, having also appeared for the likes of Goole AFC, Worksop Town and Shaw Lane AFC.

 

He moved to Northern Counties East League outfit Maltby Main in early December 2019 before signing for Worksop.

 

Ben Atkinson is a 25-year-old midfielder who joined his brother Chris at National League North side Farsley Celtic ahead of the 2017/18 season.

 

Ben spent 12 years at Huddersfield Town’s academy before joining Curzon Ashton, where he spent time on loan with Brighouse Town.

 

Defender Kurt Harris came through the ranks at Brighouse’s development team.

 

He returned to the club in August 2019 after a season away at Farsley Celtic.

 

Winger Nicky Walker, 26, originally joined Boston United on New Year’s Day 2015 following his departure from Rotherham United and then moved to league rivals Alfreton Town in September 2020.

 

He had previously spent time on loan with the likes of Wycombe Wanderers and Grimsby Town.

 

After leaving the Pilgrims at the end of the 2014/15 campaign, he played briefly for Bradford Park Avenue before returning in September 2015.

 

He returned for a third time in June 2018, having played for the likes of Clipstone, Buxton, Shaw Lane AFC and Gainsborough Trinity in the meantime.

 

Charlie Marshall, son of Garforth Town manager Paul, is in his second spell at the club.

 

Upon re-joining in October last year he made an immediate impact with a brace in the win at Bridlington Town.

 

A talented young midfield player previously with Pickering Town and Tadcaster Magnets.
