The
experienced 30-year-old has spent the last four seasons in the Football League
with League Two Stevenage, scoring 26 goals in 115 appearances.
That
move followed a prolific spell in non-League football, which included netting
29 goals for Tamworth in the 2016/17 season.
Born
in Liverpool, he began his career at Hinckley United and went on to enjoy goalscoring
success with Barwell, Leamington and the Lambs.
His
participation in Jamie Vardy`s V9 Academy in 2017 attracted the attention of a
number of League clubs before an eventual move to Stevenage, who Newton
departed at the end of June.
Manager
Neal Ardley told https://www.solihullmoorsfc.co.uk:
“Danny is a striker we have followed closely and was at the top of our list at
the start of pre-season. We understood Danny may have had league clubs battling
for his signature, so had to play a patient game with him.
“We
have stayed in touch throughout pre-season, and we are delighted to bring him
to the club. His energy and work rate is first-class and added to his goals,
will be a big asset for us”. |
