Disappointingly,
however, Boro suffered a 2-1 defeat to Yate Town at The Rogers
Family Stadium.
Harrow
included Ayodeji Owoeye, Ahmed Biler, Imran Uche and young goalkeeper Damian
Las in their starting line-up against the Bluebells.
Nigerian
striker Owoeye was a central midfielder when he initially joined now-Vanarama
National League side Grimsby Town before he was converted to a striker and is a
player with great pace and power as well as an eye for goal.
The
19-year-old joined the Mariners from Mass Elite Academy and went on to play for
Grimsby Borough in the Northern Counties East League to gain experience before
being released by Grimsby at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.
Biler,
also 19, is a left back and a product of the Southend United academy.
He
joined Boro from Southern Division One Central new boys Harlow Town, where he
had been since August 2020.
He
possesses plenty of pace and the ability to run with the ball and along with
twin brother Huyesin, they both trialled with Watford before Ahmet signed for
Southend.
Uche (pictured),
21, is a defender who joins Boro from National League South side Hampton &
Richmond Borough.
He
originally joined Isthmian South Central club Northwood in December 2018 on
dual registration with Farnborough before switching to league rivals Bedfont
Sports in October 2019.
He
had also played at Fleet Town before re-joining Hampton in the summer of 2020.
And
right on the eve of the opening game, Baker sought a favour from Championship
outfit Fulham, who allowed him to take teenage goalkeeper Damian Las on loan to
cover for Dan Lincoln, who has decided to finish the cricket season.
An
American under-17 international, Las joined Fulham in September 2019 from Chicago
Fire on a three-year deal.
The
stopper has featured for the USA under-17s in various training camps.
