Duffy
signed for the then-Southern Division One Central Steelmen in July 2019 from
the Daniels having spent three seasons at the Zeeco Stadium.
He
previously played for Holbeach United and Oadby Town in the United Counties
League.
Stamford
boss Graham Drury told his club`s website: “It's the right time for Jake to
return, he's been captain at Corby since he left and I felt that he needed a
change of surrounding and a break from me. We had worked together for many
seasons, and he needed a different voice and to impress a new manager in which
he did, and Gary Mills didn't want to lose his skipper, but I and Duffs knew it
was time for a return and we all know how good this kid is.
“To
work with him again I know he wants to prove a point that he's hungry and so
pleased to be back at Stamford. He never really wanted to leave but we both
made the decision together it was best for him. He went on to be by far the
best player in the southern division. We believe he will fit in nicely and it
also comes at a time when we have so many players missing. I for one know this
lad can be a game-changer and he also understands he's got to be at his very
best to get in this team”.
