The
32-year-old had signed for the Mariners` league rivals Clitheroe in June.
He
captained the under-18 and reserve teams at Blackburn Rovers but was released
in 2009 without appearing for the first team.
He
signed for Accrington Stanley in June 2009 and made his League debut in the
August and went on to make 250 appearances for Stanley before signing for
Morecambe in June 2016.
He
made 43 starts for Morecambe before making the relatively short trip down the
coast to join Vanarama National League North outfit Southport in August 2018,
where he was later made player-coach.

searching throughout pre-season for another experienced central defender to
join our squad and Dean fits that bill.
“He
has lots of Football League experience and was playing in the National League
North last season for Southport.
“Our
priority this season has always been about improving the strength of the whole
