The
highly-rated 19-year-old arrives at Mill Farm following the recent injury to
regular full-back Luke Burke and will be available for tomorrow’s trip to the
Horsfall Stadium, when the Coasters take on Bradford Park Avenue.
Pike (pictured),
an attacking full-back, impressed the coaching staff at AFC Fylde with his
performance for Rovers in the Luke Bennett Celebration fixture last month.
Praised
for his versatility, he has spent nine years at Ewood Park, having signed as an
8-year-old.
Having
established himself as a key player in the Championship outfit’s development squad
last season, the youngster joins Fylde looking to gain experience at senior
level.
Coasters
boss Jim Bentley told https://www.afcfylde.co.uk: “We are a bit light in
full-back areas, so we are pleased to have Dan on board. We have watched him a
couple of times, were impressed with his performance against us in pre-season,
and he comes highly recommended.
“We’d
like to thank Blackburn for allowing us to take Dan and we are looking forward
to working with him. I’m sure he will help us on the field and, equally, we can
help with his development as a player.”
Meanwhile,
young defender Jack Byrne has been loaned out to Barnoldswick Town with the aim
of gaining valuable first-team experience.
The
19-year-old has joined the North West Counties League Premier Division outfit
for an initial month. |
