The Tigers have secured the signature of defender Corey Jordan from SkyBet Championship side AFC Bournemouth on a one-year deal.

The 22-year-old central defender had been with the Cherries since the age of 7.

He had loan spells with National League South side Eastbourne Borough in 2018/19, making 11 appearances, and then National league outfit Weymouth in 2019/20 where he also played 11 times.

Manager Paul Groves told https://www.gloucestercityafc.com: “Corey is a natural centre-half and has shown his competency in the level above, the qualities he‘ll bring makes him a great addition to the squad and further strengthens the defence.”

Groves also confirmed the signing of Swedish defender Armel Kompaka Zola, also on a one-year deal.

Kompaka-Zola, who is also 22, is a right-sided defender who joins the Tigers after a trial period.

He began his playing career in his native Sweden with Qviding FIF and was more recently with fourth-tier side Sävedalens IF.

Another 22-year-old defender to sign for Gloucester is Jordon Thompson (pictured), also on a one-year deal.

The 6`2” central defender began his career at Championship sides Queens Park Rangers and then Coventry City, for whom he made 6 first-team appearances.

Whilst on the Sky Blues books, he had loan spells with Barrow AFC, Boreham Wood, Wrexham and Solihull Moors, where he finished the 2020/21 campaign.
