The
31-year-old was suspended by Lynn for getting into a spot of bother
off-the-field and has now made the switch to The Eyrie.
McAuley
signed for King`s Lynn in July 2018 from Southern Premier Division Central
outfit Lowestoft Town.
Blackpool-born,
he was with Norwich City's academy, leaving them at the age of 14 to join
Cambridge City for two years before moving on to Cambridge United's centre of
excellence in the summer of 2006 breaking into the U's first team in September
2008.
He
had spells on loan with Chelmsford City and Dartford, moving to the latter in a
permanent basis in the summer of 2014 having made 145 appearances for the U's.
He
made 52 appearances for Dartford, scoring 3 goals in the 2014/15 season and
then moved on to Chelmsford, scoring once in 51 appearances.
He
joined Lowestoft, in June 2016 and made 81 appearances for the Trawlerboys
scoring 6 goals.
He
made 49 appearances for Lynn in 2018/19, scoring 7 goals, helping them to
promotion as Southern Premier Central play-off winners and then helped them to
promotion from the National League North the following season.
Bedford
manager Gary Setchell told his club`s website: "Completing this is a
marque signing for the club. Rory played 17 games in the National League only
last season and won the National League North the year before. He hopefully
will be one of the missing ingredients we have been looking for.
“He
is a quality player, who is more than capable of playing at a higher level.
Hopefully he will help us to go to the next level too. He knows Alex Street from
his time at Lynn, and I'm hoping these two will re-inforce our spine, making us
stronger and adding great leadership between the two of them".
