Vanarama National League North club AFC Telford United have made a temporary managerial appointment to replace the departed Gavin Cowan.

The experienced Dennis Greene (pictured), 56, who most recently managed Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central side Tamworth who he left in January 2019, and previously took charge of the likes of Boston United and St Neots Town, will be assisted by Alex Meechan, 41, who had a stint as joint-boss at Northern Premier League Premier Division outfit Stafford Rangers a couple of years ago.

 

A former Telford player, Meechan helped the Bucks win promotion to the top tier of non-League in the 2010/11 campaign as Andy Sinton's side saw off Guiseley AFC in the play-off final in front of more than 5,400 supporters to return to the Conference National.

 

A statement from the Board of Directors said: "Both bring a wealth of experience and knowledge of the National League North.

 

"Let's together get behind the first team and the football club for the upcoming games".
