Lynch
played for Cables earlier in his career and was the unanimous choice of the
club’s Board of Directors.
Lynch
was Marine AFC’s first team manager between 2009 and 2013, and in his four full
seasons, guided the team to top half finishes in every campaign, with the highest
placing of seventh in 2012.
He
left the club to take up a full-time coaching role at then-Football League club
Chesterfield, followed by a stint as manager at Colwyn Bay and has recently
been scouting for Peterborough United.
During
a successful playing career as a combative midfielder, he won a Conference
North championship medal under Liam Watson at Southport in 2005 and was also a
member of the Vauxhall Motors side that famously knocked Queen’s Park Rangers
out of the FA Cup in 2002.
He
also had a stint as a player for Marine before taking on the managerial role.
Co-chairman
Matt Roberts told https://www.prescotcablesafc.com: “We are delighted to bring
Kevin on board, his experience in this league is exactly what we need at this
time to take the club forward.
“Kevin
is Cables through and through and has a huge affinity with the club. He is
someone who we believe the fans can get behind and players will respond to
straight away.
“The Board understands that Kevin will need time to implement his changes and bring
the stability that we need at this time”. |
