Having come through Premier League Crystal Palace’s youth system, Woods was sent out on loan to Scottish Championship side Hamilton Academical in 2020, where he made 3 appearances and scored on his debut against Livingston.

The 23-year-old defensive midfielder also brings EFL experience into the ranks following a short loan spell at Plymouth Argyle last season, which saw him play 9 times for the League One side.

Woods was released by Palace in the summer after his contract expired.

Head coach Dean Brennan told https://barnetfc.com: “We have been tracking Sam since day one back in June but we have had to be patient.

“I know what Sam is all about and his attributes will bring our squad what we have been looking for in that department”.
