Greaves Loaned to Reds

Making his debut for Redditch United in their 2-2 draw at Hednesford Town in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Division on Saturday was Anthony Greaves.

A no-nonsense midfielder, he has joined the Reds on a month`s loan from League One side Doncaster Rovers.

Coming through Rovers’ academy, AJ as he is better known, captained the under-18s and made his senior debut in the EFL Trophy in October 2019, having just turned professional.

He spent time on loan at Northern Premier League Premier Division side Gainsborough Trinity soon after turning pro.

He made his League debut for Doncaster in a 2-1 win against Swindon Town in January 2021.

Eventually earning 10 appearances, Greaves impressed the Rovers faithful with his work-rate and signed a contract extension in April 2021 keeping him at Keepmoat Stadium until 2022.
