The
33-year-old Irish international was last on the books at Vanarama National League
side Solihull Moors, where he had been since August 2020.
He
had previously been with Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen, where he made 10
starts between 2018 and 2020.
He
joined Aberdeen in June 2018 having left Ipswich Town at the end of the 2017/18
season.
He
has been capped four times at full international level for the Republic of
Ireland, having previously earned honours at under-17, 18, 19 and under-21
level.
He
started his career with Dublin-based side Cherry Orchard before coming over to
England and joining Wolverhampton Wanderers.
He
made a handful of first-team appearances for Wolves as well as spending time
out on loan with Stockport County, Hereford United and MK Dons.
He
joined the Dons on a more permanent basis in 2009 and made more than 200
appearances before spending three and half seasons at Birmingham City in the
Championship, playing 117 times.
He
made his first senior Republic of Ireland appearance in 2007 and was involved
again with the squad in 2017, scoring in a friendly against Mexico. |
