Candlin
has been at Lye Meadow before on loan but arrives from Northern Premier League
Premier Division side Hyde United.
The
21-year-old striker had only joined the Tigers in September from league rivals
Stafford Rangers, where he had been since July 2020.
He
is a lively forward who joined League Two side Walsall as a professional in
2017 and had loan spells with Blackburn Rovers, Nuneaton Borough and Alvechurch
and joined his home-town club Stafford after his release from the Saddlers with
Rangers seeing off interest from other parties.
Simmonds (pictured) is a 21-year-old winger who moves to `Church after a short spell with league
rivals Redditch United, who he had joined in September.
He
was rated as a real prospect as a winger with Premier League giants Liverpool,
having joined the academy at under-13 level.
He
progressed through to the under-18s but in February 2018, he was allowed to
leave Anfield and signed for Blackburn Rovers.
He
spent a year at Ewood Park, playing for the under-23s mostly, and then moved to
Accrington Stanley in January 2019.
However,
he left Stanley in December 2019 after his contract was terminated by mutual
consent.
He
trialled with Sheffield Wednesday last year and also turned out for his local
side, Stretford Paddock, in the Lancashire & Cheshire AFL. |
