Head
coach Shaun Gale have signed French midfielder Bedsenté Gomis but has lost Theo
Widdrington, who has been recalled by Vanarama National League South neighbours
Havant & Waterlooville, cutting short his loan spell at Privett Park.
Gomis (pictured) is an experienced 33-year-old whose last club in this country was also Havant
& Waterlooville.
He
had joined the Hawks in January 2020 after being with National League side
Dover Athletic, who he signed for in July 2018 after scoring 5 times in 43
appearances for fellow National League side Barrow AFC the previous season.
He
joined the Bluebirds from Sutton United in June 2017 after making 129
appearances for the Gander Green Lane outfit, scoring 15 goals.
The
former RC Lens junior won the Sutton supporters’ player of the year award in
2014/15 season - his debut season.
He
has also had spells with Spanish clubs Puertollano and Almeria before a brief
stint at Southend United, which was followed by his move to Sutton.
In
July, he signed for Andorran Primera Division outfit Sant Julia before recently
returning to this country.
Gale
told his club`s website: “It was perfect timing from our point of view.
Bedsenté lives locally and when we heard he was looking for a club we moved
quickly.
“He
is a good character and the sort of box-to-box midfielder we’ve been lacking so
far this season. He’s not quite fully match-fit yet, but he’s working on that”.
