Both Callam Mendez-Lang (pictured) and Josh Webb have come back from long-term injuries and as part of their
rehabilitation have been sent out on short-term loans with the Royals in order
to build their fitness up.
Defender
Mendez-Jones, 25, joined the Pitmen in February 2020.
He
started his career with West Bromwich Albion where he progressed through to
play for the under-18s and under-23s.
He
had a loan spell with Accrington Stanley whilst on the Baggies` books and was
released in the summer of 2017, eventually joining Hednesford.
He
left the Pitmen for Halesowen Town in December 2018 having clocked up over 50
appearances and was a consistent member of the backline after signing in
November 2017.
In
September 2019 he moved to Rushall Olympic and then to Redditch United just two
months later.
Webb
is a versatile 26-year-old player in both defence and midfield.
He
is ex-England under-17 and under-18 international whilst on Aston Villa`s
books.
He
joined the Pitmen in May from Sutton Coldfield`s league rivals Coleshill Town.
He
has also played in Scotland for Kilmarnock and for Kidderminster Harriers.
Hednesford
manager Keenen Meakin-Richards told https://www.hednesfordtownfc.com: “Webby
and Callum have both been out for a while, we saw the benefit of sending people
out on short-term loans with Ben Bailey coming back fit after his short spell
at Walsall Wood and ready to play so we are happy that both players are going
to get some game time with Sutton Coldfield to get them back up to match
sharpness”. |
