The
24-year-old re-signed for the Gulls in July 2019 following his release by SkyBet
Championship side Bristol City.
He
was a huge hit with the Torquay supporters after joining on loan in 2018/19,
making 32 appearances and scoring 12 goals, including a hat-trick in the 7-2
home win over Oxford City.
As
well as the Gulls, he had a number of other successful loan spells at both
Chippenham Town, helping them to promotion, and Isthmian South Central side
Guernsey, for whom he scored 8 goals in 8 games.
Torquay
boss Gary Johnson told https://torquayunited.com:
“Jake Andrews has moved on to Havant & Waterlooville. After discussions
with Jake over the last week or so, we both felt it was important for him to
play more first team games.
“Unfortunately,
Jake missed a big part of pre-season, which set him back in the first instance,
and then ongoing injuries and illness meant that he missed several games. I
couldn’t guarantee Jake starting games at this time, and it was only fair to
allow him to go to Havant.
“We
wish him well and thank him for his service over the last three seasons”.
