McGurk
joins Wood from Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central side Stratford
Town, where he had only been since November 2021.
He
had joined league rivals Coalville Town in June 2019. He was a January 2019
signing for Chorley after playing 17 games for then-National League North
rivals Nuneaton Borough in late 2018.
A
former Northern Ireland Youth international forward with over 200 games of
experience in the Football League with Aston Villa, Tranmere Rovers, Burton
Albion, Portsmouth, Cambridge United and Morecambe.
Hendrie,
brother of former Aston Villa and England star Lee, played 7 League games for
Morecambe in 2010 after being picked up whilst playing for Atherstone Town
having already clocked up spells with Villa, Tamworth, Walsall, Studley, Stratford
and Alvechurch.
Since
then he has been well-travelled with spells with the likes of Tamworth,
Daventry Town, Redditch United, Corby Town, Basford United, where he won
promotion from the Midland League Premier in 2015, scoring 28 goals.
He
played with his brother Lee for local side Montpellier where he scored 60 goals
in the last one and a half seasons, before going on to serve Rugby Town, GNP
Sports, Coleshill Town, Highgate United, Boldmere St Michaels and Coton Green,
joining Coventry United in October. |
