Experienced Defender Makes Colls Switch
Experienced defender Ben Turner has signed for Pontefract Collieries from Pitching In Northern Premier League Division One East rivals Worksop Town.

The 29-year-old started his career with SkyBet Championship side Sheffield United and then went to Mansfield Town.

 

He had two years YTS with the Stags and then two years as a professional.

 

He had a loan spell with North Ferriby United before joining Worksop on a permanent basis in the summer of 2011.

 

He went on to have spells with Goole AFC, Matlock Town, Sheffield FC and Belper Town before re-joining Sheffield in November 2014.

 

In the summer of 2016, he moved to NPL Premier Division outfit Mickleover and then switched to league rivals Grantham Town in May 2020.

 

He returned to Worksop in June 2021.
