Pitching
In Northern Premier League Premier Division club Nantwich Town have brought
goalkeeper Matt Gould back to the Weaver Stadium on loan from Vanarama National
League side Altrincham.
Gould’s
previous spell was cut short earlier this season after an injury to Alty’s
first choice keeper meant he had to be recalled.
Gould (pictured),
27, joined Altrincham in August 2020 from National League North side Spennymoor
Town, who he signed for in the summer of 2018.
He
is the son of former Celtic and Scotland shot-stopper Jonathan Gould and the
grandson of FA Cup-winning manager Bobby Gould.
He
began his career in New Zealand under the stewardship of his father at Hawke’s
Bay, before returning to the UK where he has enjoyed spells at Cheltenham Town
and Livingston.
Also
joining the Dabbers on a month`s loan is 19-year-old midfielder Joe Robbins from
SkyBet League One neighbours Crewe Alexandra.
Robbins
has come through the famed Alex academy set-up, captaining the youth team
during his scholarship days before progressing to the under-23s.
He
spent a month on loan at National League side Altrincham in the early stages of
last season and made 5 appearances before making his Alex debut in the final
game of this season’s EFL Trophy group stage against Wolverhampton Wanderers` under-21s.
