Knibbs has worked tirelessly to build his squad ahead of the coming season and the capture of Ryan Harkin adds firepower to an already strong looking squad.
After finishing last season as the joint winner of the Midland League Premier Division`s `golden boot` Harkin has attracted plenty of attention but he has now made the decision to continue his football career at Coventry Sphinx.
Since joining Sphinx, he has scored 50 goals in two seasons and he will now re-join the squad to prepare for the start of the season that gets underway on Saturday.
His commitment to the club ahead of the season should give all supporters a further boost after seeing the majority of last season’s squad retained and some quality new signings also added.
Meanwhile, attacking midfielder Charlie Faulkner has decided to re-join Sphinx after initially opting for a move to United Counties League Premier Division new boys Rugby Town earlier in the summer.
Faulkner first arrived at Coventry Sphinx in September 2017 and went on to establish himself in the first-team.
His regular appearances amounted to 27 starts, 5 substitute appearances and 8 goals which predominantly came from a wide midfield position.
Faulkner had arrived at Coventry Sphinx from Knowle where he had scored twice in his four matches.
He made his name at Stratford Town where he progressed from the youth team into their first-team squad and that season he made 15 appearances for the Evo-Stik Southern Premier outfit.
He had also had a previous spell at Rugby when he made a handful of appearances in the 2016/17 season.
And he had originally decided to join the Valley in June to re-unite with his former Stratford boss Carl Adams.
