Benfield has played just four times for Weymouth after joining from Salisbury in the summer of 2020.

He has not featured for the Terras at all this season, going out on loan to Wimborne`s league rivals Dorchester Town where he has played 16 times.

However, Weymouth recalled him just before Christmas as cover for Ross Fitzsimons when young understudy Harrison Bruton broke a finger.

The 24-year-old signed a new one-year contract with the Terras in the summer, having originally joined the club in June 2020 from Salisbury.

He had been with the Whites since May 2019 after arriving from Wimborne, where he earned his reputation as one of the best keepers on the local circuit.

Benfield, who hails from Poole, originally joined the Wimborne in July 2016 from Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) Premier outfit Hamworthy United.
