The young forward joined the Wood on loan from Barnsley at the beginning of the 2017/18 season. However, he suffered a nasty knee injury in a friendly against Barnet.

The 22-year-old has since made a full recovery from his injury and he will join up with his new team-mates for the pre-season schedule.

On joining Boreham, Ash told the club`s official website: “I’m really excited to be coming back and I can’t wait for the season to start. My aims are to help get the club promoted and to contribute with goals, assists and good performances in every game.

“I can bring lots of energy because I like to press and win the ball high up the pitch and I’ll bring bits of quality around the box with goals and assists.

“I think the way manager Luke Garrard wants to play is perfect for me and I feel like I can really impress and do well here and help the club get a promotion.

“Yeah, I think I showed enough in the little time I was here during pre-season, and I’m thankful of the chairman and the Gaffer for believing in me and I can’t wait for the season to get started and help the club get into League Two.”

The young forward joined the Tykes in January 2016 from West-super-Mare following an eye-catching debut season in the Conference South, netting 14 goals in as many appearances.

Ash, who has played for England Colleges as well as an England C select XI, spent the 2016/17 season back at Weston on loan, and netted an impressive 19 goals in 34 appearances.

Garrard added: “We had a taste of him last year, although it was only for pre-season, we knew exactly what he was about and we had done a lot of homework prior to that.

“That hasn’t changed, we know that he is going to be energetic, enthusiastic, that he plays with a tempo and an energy and I am really looking forward to working with him on a full-time basis.

“He stayed in the player’s house, which was a massive thing on our part because we wanted to make him feel at home. For him to leave Barnsley and want to sign with us on a permanent two-year deal, I think that is a credit to everyone involved at the club.

“He brings a great energy and a togetherness to the group, which is already apparent, and for me, moving forward, I think it could be a massive coup for us.

“You look at his work rate, his energy, and his goal rate at Weston in the league below, for me, it is only positive.

“He has got an eye for goal, he harries defences and he wins the ball high up the park and that is something in my make-up, that I really enjoy.”

Boreham Wood also announced that Portuguese-born striker Bruno Andrade has – after multiple offers from the Football League – joined Lincoln City on a two-year deal.

The 24-year-old scored 22 times in 50 appearances last season as the Wood reached the National League play-off final.

Andrade is a product of the Queens Park Rangers youth set-up and made three first-team appearances during a six-year stay at Loftus Road, including loan spells at Aldershot Town, Wycombe Wanderers and Stevenage.

He scored his first senior goal just after he turned 19, during his loan spell at Wycombe while in League Two.

His breakthrough season came in 2015/16 when he joined Woking on loan.

Andrade (pictured) left QPR permanently in the summer of 2016, to head to North London with Boreham Wood.

He’s featured over 80 times in the two seasons, scoring 34 times, including two during this season’s play-off campaign as Wood finished third in the National League.

“It’s good to be here, and the first impressions are good and that’s the main thing,” Andrade said. “I dropped down a league to go to the Conference, and I knew my ability would get me back into the Football League and I’m grateful for Lincoln to give me that opportunity.

“What the Cowley brothers have achieved in the club’s first year back in the Football League, unfortunately missing out on the play-offs, but you can see this club is on the up, and I want to be part of it”.
