Marshall,
32, is an experienced player who joined Basford in late March 2020 from
Matlock, who were quick to snap up the forward after Vanarama National League
North side Alfreton Town released him at the end of the 2017/18 season.
He
began his career with Blackburn Rovers and has further League experience with
Rotherham United, Bury and Morecambe.
Spells
on loan at then-non-League clubs Grimsby Town and, Lincoln City followed,
before he joined Boston United, also having a loan spell at Coalville Town.
He
joined Alfreton in 2017 making 8 appearances, also going out on loan to Hyde United
scoring twice in 4 games.
A
tall attacking midfielder who can also play in a more advanced role.
Hawkridge (pictured) is another experienced wide player who signed for Basford in September 202 for
an undisclosed fee from National League North side Boston United, where he had
been since August 2020.
He
had signed for Solihull Moors in January 2019 from Notts County, where he made
35 appearances and scored 3 goals after arriving in May 2017.
Following
youth spells at Barnsley and Tranmere Rovers, the now 31-year-old began his
senior career at Carlton Town, before going on to play at Hucknall Town and
Gainsborough Trinity.
Six
goals in 37 matches with the Holy Blues earned him a move to Scunthorpe United
and he was a regular in the team as the Iron gained promotion to League One in
2014.
Next
came loan moves to Mansfield Town and then-National League side Lincoln City
where, after a promising first season, he signed permanently and became an
integral part of Danny Cowley’s Imps who won the National League title in
2016/17.
He
scored 4 goals that season and netted a brace against Macclesfield to seal
title with two games to spare.
Matlock
have also signed young goalkeeper Joe Young on loan from Premier League side
Wolverhampton Wanderers until the end of the season.
The
19-year-old produced a number of impressive displays for NPL Division One West
side Runcorn Linnets in the first half of the season, keeping nine clean
sheets.
He
leaves the Linnets fifth in the table.
Young,
a former England under-17 international, will hope to continue his form and impress
his Premier League owners. |
