Longe-King,
who turns 27 next week, signed for the Mariners in June on a two-year deal.
They
fought off strong competition from a number of clubs for his signature.
After
a successful trial period in the summer of 2020, he joined Newport County from
National League South side St Albans City, following six years at Clarence
Park.
A
centre-back by trade, he had an unusual route into the game, having not played
for any professional clubs during his youth career.
Instead,
he spent time with Barton Rovers, Biggleswade Town, Dunstable Town and Ware,
before spending six years with the Saints.
He
has represented England C on the international stage after featuring in The
Three Lions’ 2-0 defeat to Estonia in June 2019. |
