Taking over in the summer of 2017, the pair guided the Greater Manchester club into the NWCL in their first season before achieving back-to-back promotions and establishing themselves in the Premier Division.

A club statement read: "They have both worked extremely hard to establish us as a force in non-league and leave us in the NWCFL Premier Division and in the semi-final of the Manchester Premier Cup, with a great squad and foundation to progress.

“Whilst it’s a shock, all I can do is thank them wholeheartedly for all the hard work and huge amount of time they dedicated to our club during this incredible journey.

“Lee and James will always be welcome at the club and have etched themselves as a major part of the club's history forever. We wish them well in whatever they do next."

Alex Frost will take charge of the first team on an interim basis.

The 36-year-old joined Avro in September 2019 and has made 12 appearances for the club this season.
