The 27-year-old had been out for a lengthy time through injury and was hungry for game time. This couldn’t be guaranteed at Salisbury so Laird stepped in.

Baker, who has played 19 times and scored 2 goals for Steve Claridge`s side this season, moved the short distance from Poole Town to league rivals Salisbury in June 2020.

He had travelled along the Dorset coast to Poole from Weymouth in May 2019.

The forward signed for the Terras in the summer of 2017 after an impressive season at Toolstation Western League side Gillingham Town.

He scored 19 goals in his first season at Weymouth and his high-energy and work-rate made him very popular with the Terras’ fans.
