Camp, whose prolific career includes almost 600 senior club appearances and international caps for Northern Ireland and England’s under-21s, has signed a short-term deal with the Blues.

And the 37-year-old, a Championship title winner with AFC Bournemouth in 2015 has also played for Derby County, Queens Park Rangers, Rotherham United and Birmingham City.

The Blues swooped for Camp after regular number-one Chris Thompson sustained a head injury in last weekend’s defeat at Widnes.

And the vastly experienced keeper, who left SkyBet League Two side Swindon Town at the end of last season, will be joined in the Blues’ ranks by fellow new recruit Jack Hopkins.

The 20-year-old former Stockport County defender moves to Shawbridge from North West Counties League First Division South side New Mills.
