Vastly
experienced midfielder Dean Parrett joins the Waders after his recent release
from Vanarama National League side Barnet.
The
30-year-old had joined the Bees in December 2020 after spending a month with
league rivals Wealdstone.
He
was formerly with Stevenage, and he amassed over 200 League appearances.
He
began his career at Tottenham Hotspur and made his debut aged just 17 in a UEFA
Cup match against Shakhtar Donetsk.
He
made 4 appearances at Spurs and also represented England at under-16, 17, 18,
19 and under-20 level and spent time out on loan at Aldershot Town, Plymouth
Argyle, Charlton Athletic, Yeovil Town and Swindon Town.
He
originally joined Stevenage in 2013 and spent three years with Boro, scoring 9
times in 78 appearances.
From
there he joined AFC Wimbledon and Gillingham in League One before returning to
Stevenage in the summer of 2019.
Joining
from Isthmian League Premier Division side Wingate & Finchley is
20-year-old forward Liam Smyth.
Smyth
made 27 appearances and scored 4 goals after signing for Wingate in July 2021
from Stevenage.
He
came through the Stevenage academy under O`Keefe and made his first team debut
aged only 17.
He
spent the incomplete seasons on 2019/20 and 2020/21 on loan with National
League South side Braintree Town, and has featured regularly for Northern
Ireland under-19's.
In
addition, joining the Waders on `work experience` from Stevenage is young
defender Morgan Mahoney.
The
18-year-old academy Boro graduate had a spell on `work experience` with
Isthmian League North Division side Hullbridge Sports earlier this season.
All
three debuted in Biggleswade`s crucial 1-0 win at Bromsgrove Sporting on
Saturday, with Liam Smyth scoring the all-important goal. |
