The Steelmen and Mills parted ways immediately after
their 2-0 defeat at Belper Town on the final day of the season, meaning a 15th-place
finish for the club.
A
brief statement read: “Corby Town Football Club can confirm they have parted
company with the first team manager by mutual consent
“We
would like to thank the manager for his efforts and wish him all the best in
the future.”
A
former European Cup winner with Nottingham Forest and an ex-Gateshead, Grantham
Town, King’s Lynn Town, Tamworth, Wrexham and York City manager, Mills took
over at Steel Park in August 2020.
The
59-year-old, who played for the likes of Brian Clough, David Pleat and Neil
Warnock, took York back up into the EFL in 2012 via the National League’s
play-off final at Wembley as well as twice winning the FA Trophy in 2012 and
2017.
Mills
succeeded Tommy Wright, the ex-Nuneaton Borough, Darlington and Stratford Town
manager.
