New
manager Daniel Moore has returned to former club Shildon to sign goalkeeper
Shaun Newbrook, who played more than 150 games for the club in four seasons.
Newbrook (pictured) signed for the Railwaymen at the beginning of the 2018/19 season.
He
was previously at Jarrow Roofing and Seaham Red Star.
And
Moore has made three signings from Morpeth Town in striker Liam Henderson, winger
Joe Walton and midfielder Wayne Phillips.
Henderson
scored 77 goals in 217 appearances for the Highwaymen and scored 14 last
season.
The
32-year-old had been with Morpeth after joining from Spennymoor Town in June
2016.
He
finished as the club’s top scorer each season and his robust style of play is a
constant thorn in the side of opponents.
Originally
with Hartlepool United, he moved to Watford in 2007 and played 18 games for the
Hornets as well as having loan spells with the likes of Wealdstone, Hartlepool,
Colchester, Aldershot Town and Rotherham.
He
joined York City in 2011 but only played a handful of times for the Minstermen
as well as more loans to Forest Green Rovers, Gainsborough Trinity and
Gateshead, who he joined permanently late in 2012/13 before signing for
Spennymoor in the summer of 2013.
Following
him to Hebburn are team-mates Joe Walton and Wayne Phillips.
Winger
Walton was another with more than 200 appearances for Morpeth, while Phillips
played alongside Hebburn boss Moore at Spennymoor Town, lifting the 2013 FA
Vase.
Walton
won the FA Vase with Spennymoor Town and joined the Highwaymen from Washington
in the summer of 2017 and the winger has vast experience.
He
can play in various positions but will best be remembered nationally for a
sensational goal against Marske United which went viral.
Phillips,
now 36, had joined the Highwaymen from South Shields, where he won four
trophies, including the FA Vase at Wembley.
He
is a vastly experienced winger, who also won the Vase with Spennymoor Town.
Formerly
with Wrexham, Stockport County, Gateshead and Blyth Spartans, he was given the
captain’s armband and led the Highwaymen to promotion to the Northern Premier
Division in 2018/19. |
