The
experienced player was part of the Robins` championship-winning team of last
season.
Clark
had joined Bracknell in May 2021 from then-Isthmian South Central rivals Marlow.
He
had signed for Marlow in June 2020 from Hayes & Yeading United, who he
joined in the summer of 2019 having closed out the previous campaign with
Vanarama National League South side Wealdstone.
His
early career saw him turn out for Thatcham Town and Didcot Town before he found
a regular place with Hungerford Town, making around 200 appearances in four
seasons.
He
switched to Wealdstone in May 2018 and spent time at both Thatcham and Marlow
in 2018/19 on dual registration from the Stones.
Basingstoke
boss Dan Brownlie told https://btfc.co.uk: “I’ve wanted James for a long, long
time now. He is a really classy centre forward who is not only a brilliant
finisher but can also bring other people into the game with his power and
strength alongside an enviable first touch. He’ll add a lot of quality to our
front line and those around him will also flourish because of his abilities in
and out of possession. I’m really pleased to be able to get someone of his
quality over the line.
“Both
clubs have worked hard to get the deal finalised and we’re really pleased with
the outcome that has benefitted everybody. I’m really excited about the signing
as I believe he is going to make a huge impact to our attacking prowess”. |
