The 21-year-old has enjoyed a successful trial at the EBB Stadium since being released by The Eagles, featuring in pre-season friendlies against Leatherhead, Oxford United and Wealdstone.
A left-back who was converted into a winger after scoring a hat-trick in a FA Youth Cup tie against Sheffield Wednesday in 2013, Berkeley-Agyepong was part of Palace’s first-team squad for the 2016 pre-season tour to the United States of America and Canada.
“The club sold itself to me,” Berkeley-Agyepong told The Shots Steve Gibbs. “Everyone knows the gaffer, his personality and how he loves to help young players. On the first day of pre-season, I said ‘this is the right place for me, regardless of other opportunities in higher leagues’. For me to progress in my career, this is the right place for me.
“I’ve really enjoyed pre-season here, and feel that I’ve progressed, but I could do more. I can always improve. Now I’m raring to go, to get out there and show what I can do". |
