The 20-year-old signed for the Poppies last summer and was an impressive performer throughout the campaign as he made 45 appearances as they just missed out on a play-off place.

Barrett was rewarded for his displays when he picked up the Vice Presidents’ player of the year award.

He began his career at Leicester City, where he spent two years with their academy before leaving for a new opportunity with Burnley under-23s.

AFC Fylde manager James Rowe told https://www.afcfylde.co.uk: “Connor is a player we have tracked for some time, and we’re delighted to be able to get it over the line early and make a start to our preparations for the upcoming season.

“He is someone who has massive potential, and it’s now about fulfilling that potential within a full-time environment”.
