Several New Deres
Southern Counties East League Premier Division club Erith & Belvedere have announced several new arrivals ahead of 2022/23.

Included in the list of new signings is vastly experienced centre-back Ryan Johnson (pictured), who made 52 appearances for Pitching In Isthmian League Premier Division side Folkestone Invicta, who just missed out on a play-off spot, last season.

 

The 35-year-old joined Invicta in May 2021 from Isthmian South East side Ramsgate.

 

He had signed for the Rams in June 2020 from Vanarama National League South side Maidstone United.

 

He had joined the Stones in late July 2019 after a successful trial period at the Gallagher Stadium.

 

He had impressed the Stones management whilst with Isthmian South East side East Grinstead Town, who he joined in the summer of 2018.

 

Originally with Queens Park Rangers, he had three years with Maidenhead United followed by playing 31 games for Welling United in 2008/09.

 

Spells with Sittingbourne, Margate and Hythe Town followed before he joined the Wasps.

 

Another centre-back signing is Jack Miles from new league rivals Whitstable Town.

 

He had re-joined then-Isthmian South East Whitstable in March 2022 from Combined Counties League side Guildford City.

 

He previously signed for the Oystermen in October 2020 from league rivals Ashford United.

 

He was previously with home-town club Sevenoaks Town, where he was part of the side that won promotion to the Isthmian League and made over 200 appearances.

 

Also switching from Whitstable is midfielder Tom Carlton.

 

He joined the Oystermen in November 2020 having re-joined Herne Bay from Isthmian South East rivals Hythe Town in November 2019.

 

He is an attacking midfielder who spent his school years in the youth set-ups at Chelsea and West Ham United before joining Colchester United in their academy.

 

He originally joined Bay in 2017 and made 32 appearances and scored 7 goals before switching to the Cannons.

 

Another defender joining the Deres is 22-year-old Ryan Huckle.

 

He came through the youth setup at Gillingham, spending time on loan at Ramsgate and Dover Athletic.

 

The end of his time with the Gills saw him sign for Faversham Town, where he made 22 appearances during 2018/19 and another 3 during 2019/20.

 

He signed for Isthmian Premier side Leatherhead in the summer of 2020 and made 10 appearances before lockdown.

 

He switched to Isthmian South East side Hastings United in June 2021 but re-joined the Tanners two months later, moving to Isthmian South East outfit East Grinstead Town in December 2021.

 

Winger Malachi Hudson joins from Sheppey United.

 

The 27-year-old has previously played for Walton Casuals, Welling United, Kingstonian, Greenwich Borough, Chipstead and VCD Athletic and will add a real pace and flair to the Deres` forward line.

 

Defender Ben Wilson arrives back at Erith & Belvedere for a second spell.

 

He signed for Ramsgate in June 2020 from Isthmian South East rivals Ashford United.

 

He had joined the Nuts & Bolts in January 2020 and made 13 appearances before lockdown, having been with Hythe Town and Sevenoaks Town.

 

He also had spells with Corinthian and East Grinstead Town.

 

Goalkeeper Adam Molloy is another to make the move from Sheppey United, where he helped the club to quadruple success, kept 24 clean sheets and was nominated as Step 5 goalkeeper of the year.

 

He brings over thirteen years’ experience, playing at various levels of non-League football since the age of 16, including the likes of Erith Town, Glebe, Sittingbourne and Chatham Town.

 

He started his youth ranks being on the books at West Ham United and represented England at under-18 Schoolboy level.
