The 28-year-old, who made 18 appearances for The Shots in a loan spell from Colchester United in 2014/15, returns to the EBB Stadium following his release by SkyBet League Two side Cheltenham Town.

The Northampton-born striker helped fire the Robins to the National League championship in 2015/16, scoring 16 goals in 18 appearances in the second half of a season in which he also scored 14 goals in a loan spell at Woking.

Holman first came to prominence with 60 goals in 77 games for United Counties League side Long Buckby, a record which, in 2011, prompted a move to then-Conference North side Histon, for whom he scored 29 goals in one season.

Braintree Town then paid an undisclosed fee for Holman, and a further 25 goals at Cressing Road brought a move into League One with Colchester United.

Holman told Aldershot press officer Steve Gibbs: “It’s brilliant to be back.

“I really enjoyed my time here before, and now the team has evolved a lot. They’ve had a couple of really successful seasons, I’ve seen the way the team has played and I’m very happy to be a part of it.

“I’m really grateful to Gary Waddock and James Rowe for bringing me in, because I needed that fresh start and a fresh challenge. I’m feeling as good as ever and am excited to be playing with the players here, so I hope that I can have a big impact”.
