The
34-year-old has played nearly 400 games in the Football League, playing in an
EFL Cup final at Wembley and scoring in the League Two play-off final.
Hanson
had joined the Pilgrims in January 2022 from league rivals Farsley Celtic,
where he had been since July 2021 after leaving Grimsby Town following their
relegation back into the National League at the end of the 2020/21 season.
The
Bradford-born forward is vastly experienced in the Football League and racked
up over 500 appearances and scored around150 goals.
He
started his career at with spells in the academies at Huddersfield Town and
Bradford City before dropping into non-League football with Eccleshill United
and Guiseley.
He
was snapped up by Bradford City in July 2009 and went onto play 335 times for
the Bantams, scoring 91 goals.
He
helped the Yorkshire side win the League Two play-offs in 2013 and played a key
role in their run to the League Cup Final in the same year.
Sheffield
United swooped to sign him in January 2017 and he was part of the Blades squad
who won the League One title under Chris Wilder. However, he fell down the
pecking order at Bramall Lane and was loaned to Bury before joining AFC
Wimbledon in 2018.
He
scored 5 goals for Wimbledon in 2018/19 in 29 games before joining the Mariners
in 2019, making a further 52 appearances with 11 goals. |
