The
23-year-old had joined the Crows in February 2022 from Isthmian League Premier Division
side Potters Bar Town.
He
had been with the Scholars since the summer of 2021 after arriving from league
rivals Kingstonian.
He
had signed for K`s in March 2019 after having been released by Norwich City the
month previously.
He
began his career at Carrow Road and played for the under-18 and under-23 sides
and in January 2019 he had a short loan spell with Billericay Town.
Chelmsford
manager Robbie Simpson told https://www.chelmsfordcityfc.com: "Devonte is
a player with tremendous ability, and we see him as an all-round midfielder. He
can play as a 4, an 8 or a 10 due to his athleticism and footballing
intelligence. Also, when we saw him play for Potters Bar he also played in the
wide areas and did really well there.
"He's
got loads of great attributes to his game; athleticism, power, toughness and
the ability to score goals as well. He's got a really bright future and we're
lucky to bring him to the club as there was a lot of interest in his signature
given his performances last season.
"We're
looking forward to working with Devonte and we think it's another really good
signing for us".
