Salisbury Move for Long-Serving Thomson
Ben Thomson has ended a seven-year spell with Vanarama National League South side Weymouth and signed for Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South club Salisbury.

The 32-year-old, an uncompromising forward with pace and power, joined the Terras in 2015 and became a big favourite with supporters in making 255 appearances and scoring 66 goals.

 

He was previously with Gillingham Town and Frome Town.

 

Also making the trip up from Weymouth is Jason Matthews, who returns to the Raymond McEnhill Stadium as goalkeeper coach.

 

He made 326 appearances for the Terras before ending his time at the Bob Lucas Stadium as player-manager.

 

After a spell at Salisbury City in the 1998/99 season, Matthews also played for Exeter City, Bath City and Dorchester Town.
