The
26-year-old, who can play on the right side of both defence and midfield, spent
five seasons at Boreham Wood, making over 160 appearances.
Smith
joined Wood on an initial two-year deal from Pitching In Southern League
Premier Division Central outfit Hitchin Town in July 2017.
He
made 120 senior appearances over two seasons for Hitchin and had trials with
Crystal Palace, Shrewsbury Town and Coventry City.
He
won both players’ and supporters’ player of the year awards for Hitchin in 2016
and proved to be a key member of Boreham Wood`s squad in his first season at
National League level, helping the club to reach the play-offs.
However,
he suffered a serious knee injury in the play-offs, during the match against
AFC Fylde, which ruled him out of the 2018/19 campaign.
But
he recovered to become a regular in the side again for the following three
seasons. |
