The
33-year-old had re-signed for Southend in August 2021 from National League
North outfit Alfreton Town, who he joined in late October 2020.
He

youth ranks at Hull City.
He
joined Port Vale on loan back in 2007 from then-Premier League Hull and had
further spells at the likes of Southend United, Rochdale, Bradford City,
Mansfield Town and Rotherham United.
He
amassed over 300 League appearances during his career, including winning
promotion with Bradford City and playing in a League Cup final for the Bantams
against Swansea in 2013.
He
then re-joined Port Vale in October 2019 on a short-term deal before signing
until the end of the 2019/20 season. He was then released by the Vale.
