Defender Tom Handley has crossed the bridge to join the Martyrs from Southern Division One South side Cirencester Town.

The 21-year-old had signed for the Centurians in August 2020 from Vanarama National League North side Gloucester City, who he signed for in July 2019 from League Two neighbours Cheltenham Town, where he spent 10 years in the youth set up.

He had time on loan in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division with Lydney Town in 2018/19.

Michael told his club’s website: “Tom was my top full-back target this summer.

“We watched him a few times last season at Cirencester, he’s got a great range of passing he’s excellent on the ball, he’s strong, athletic and a great age to keep getting better.

“He’s a right-back that’s also equally accomplished on the left so with Adam’s experience on the left too, I think it gives us excellent options at full-back”.
