Midfielder
Alfie Egan moves to the LV BET Stadium Meadow Park making the jump up from the
National League South following his departure Ebbsfleet United.
The
24-year-old had been with Fleet since late July 2019 following a successful
trial.
The
Londoner left SkyBet League One side AFC Wimbledon in May 2018 after coming
through Don’s youth ranks.
He
appeared 28 times for the Dons and also represented Sutton United, East
Thurrock United and Kingstonian on loan.
Right-back Dion Kelly-Evans joins from fellow National League outfit Notts County.
The
25-year-old will be keen to make amends after coming up short in last season’s
play-offs and comes in with plenty of expectation to fill void on the right
flank following the departure of Kane Smith this off-season.
He
had joined the Magpies in July 2019 after impressing in pre-season.
He
had helped Kettering Town to win the Southern League Premier Division Central
title in 2018/19 after signing for the Poppies during the close season of 2018.
He
graduated through Coventry City's youth academy, making 28 appearances for
the Sky Blues first-team.
Forward
Danny Newton (pictured) is another newcomer following his departure from Solihull Moors
this summer.
The
31-year-old had been with Solihull since August 2021.
The
experienced forward spent the previous four seasons with League Two Stevenage,
scoring 26 goals in 115 appearances.
That
move followed a prolific spell in non-League football, which included netting
29 goals for Tamworth in the 2016/17 season.
Born
in Liverpool, he began his career at Hinckley United and went on to enjoy
goalscoring success with Barwell, Leamington and the Lambs.
His
participation in Jamie Vardy`s V9 Academy in 2017 attracted the attention of a
number of League clubs before an eventual move to Stevenage, who Newton
departed at the end of June.
Another
forward, Danny Elliott, has also switched to Wood from National League North
side Boston United.
The
26-year-old signed for Hartlepool United in April 2021 from National League
North side Chester and then switched to rivals Boston in August 2021.
He
had joined Chester in July 2019 after a successful short trial period.
He
spent time at Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa during his youth before playing
college football for Hofstra Pride in New York where he made 68 appearances and
scored 14 goals.
He
then turned out for North Carolina FC, Long Island Rough Riders and Spanish
Tercera División club San Cristóbal in October 2018.
He
returned to England in January 2019 and joined Port Vale, earning a short-term
deal and making 6 first team appearances.
