North West Counties League Division One North club Darwen have pulled off a coup by signing vastly experienced midfielder David Lynch.

The 29-year-old joins from Pitching In Northern Premier League Division One West side Marine AFC, where he had been since the summer of 2021.

 

He became player-manager of the Mariners` league rivals Clitheroe in the summer of 2020 after joining from Vanarama National League North side Alfreton Town, where he had been since October 2018 after arriving from rivals Southport for an undisclosed fee in October 2018.

 

He started his career at Burnley and has featured at Clitheroe, Altrincham and FC Halifax Town.

 

He played 31 times for the Shaymen, including 13 appearances in the National League during the 2017/18 campaign.

 

He moved to Southport in November 2017 for an undisclosed fee, where made 43 appearances.
