Byrne Moves to League Rivals

Kidderminster Harriers have snapped up midfielder Shane Byrne from Vanarama National League North rivals Boston United.

The 29-year-old had joined the Pilgrims in June 2021 from another National League North rival, Brackley Town.

He had moved to the Saints in the 2016/17 season from Nuneaton Borough where he enjoyed a successful spell.

He started his career with Leicester City and on the international transfer deadline day in 2011, he withdrew from the Republic of Ireland under-19 squad in order to move on loan to Bury.

He had his loan extended and made 14 appearances in total before he returned to Ireland to join Bray Wanderers for an undisclosed fee.

He joined Corby Town in August 2014 from Bray and was a member of the Steelmen`s Southern Premier championship-winning side.

He switched to Nuneaton in the summer of 2015 and then onto the Saints.

He has represented the Republic of Ireland both at under-17 and under-19 level.
