Manager Gary Johnson has bolstered his squad by securing the signing of former Plymouth Argyle centre-back Tomlinson and ex-Crystal Palace striker Andrews.

Tomlinson, 20, made 7 first-team outings for Devon rivals Plymouth prior to gained further senior action with then-Pitching In Southern League Division One South side Barnstaple and Southern Premier Division South outfit Truro City.

Andrews enjoyed a prolific spell in the National League with Aldershot Town last time out, netting 9 goals in 20 appearances before joining League Two side Colchester United on a similar loan deal.

The 24-year-old started out at Palace and enjoyed loan spells in the Isthmian League Premier Division with Margate and Kingstonian whilst at Selhurst Park.

Spells with Whyteleafe and Kingstonian again followed before he joined AFC Wimbledon in January 2021.

Johnson told https://torquayunited.com: “Ollie has great potential, he was about to go somewhere else, but he played in a couple of our training sessions and we thought he done okay. We think there’s room for improvement but he’s only a young lad and he’s got what it takes to become a very, very good player – maybe soon, maybe a little bit later, but it’s good to have him in the camp.

“Obviously Corie is a lot older, and a lot more experienced, he’s got great pace and we play the sort of game that will suit him, because he likes to get in behind. He has a very good work rate, and he suits our group. He can be that number 10, and sometimes that number 9, but he does like opening his legs up and sprinting in behind, and I like that as well”.
