Cornish Returns to the North East
Vanarama National League North club Blyth Spartans have announced the signing of midfielder Matty Cornish.

Cornish began playing in the Ebac Northern League whilst at Durham University, and featured for sides such as Newcastle Benfield, Whitley Bay and Consett AFC.

 

While studying his Masters` degree in America, Cornish featured for Nova Southeastern University in Florida, and helped the team reach the National semi-finals.

 

Earlier this year, he began training with USL Championship side Miami FC, before signing for third division side Michigan Stars FC.

 

Blyth manager Terry Mitchell told http://www.blythspartans.com: “I’m absolutely delighted to have Matty on board with us.

 

“He’s a fantastic and exciting player who I know very well, I had him at Consett and he played a huge part in getting us to Wembley.”

 

He added: “He’s a crowd-pleaser and hopefully he can show our fans what he can do”.
