Jones Returns to Tulips on a More Permanent Basis
Pitching In Northern Premier League Division One Midlands club Spalding United have signed midfielder Archie Jones.

The 20-year-old moves to the Sir Halley Stewart Field from Isthmian League Premier Division side Bishop`s Stortford.

 

He had joined Stortford in June 2021 and spent time on loan with the Tulips in 2021/22.

 

The central midfielder progressed through the youth academy at SkyBet League One side Peterborough United.

 

He made one appearance for the Posh in November 2019 which came in a 2-1 win against Cambridge United in the EFL Trophy.

 

He became part of the under-21 set-up at London Road and had a loan spell with Stortford in 2020/21, making 13 appearances and scoring 2 goals.

 

Manager Brett Whaley told https://www.spaldingunited.net: "I'm delighted to have Archie back at the club. He did really well for us on loan last season despite only being 75% fit, and I think he will be really influential in the middle of the park for us this season and we'll see his true ability".
